Boslem - Thurs 23rd Sep.

Up for it were - Yup, Digger, Huge, Goosey, Pedro, Keithee, (Spike unfortunately had to drop out,) Anytime Tone, Jaycee, DC, Ali G and Jacko.

Most caught the Bow Green bus at 1.50pm from Castle, meeting at the Bursley Arms around 2.15pm. The sun was shining so we took advantage of sitting outside and enjoyed the warmth, (especially Yup!), and stayed longer than anticipated. The Butty Bach and the JHB went down very well along with the crisps, pork scratchings and nuts that Digger kindly provided.

Hog Noggins was our next port of call which we hadn’t been to before. I fail to remember the ale but it was very good. I do however remember the back room and toilet areas looking like Steptoe’s yard. A little cleaning up is definitely required…. There was so much clutter around that whenever anyone went to the toilets they appeared back through a different doorway.

Time was running out so we dashed over to Johnny’s Micropub for a brief pint before the curry. Goosey had a good chinwag withJohnny having known him back in his Penkhull days.

The Sapphire indian was booked for 6.30. We hadn’t been here before but thankfully it was yet another excellent meal for the majority. We’re doing exceptionally well this year so far……
